A fancy dress competition is held at lunch time and riders are allowed to wear their costumes all day. Sadly we did not have any chicken costumes this year as in the past. Here Felicity Johnson rode her Friesian, Ahneke in the Chickadees Preliminary 1A for riders under 15 canter test.

As NSW does not have a state wide Adult Riding Club association like Victoria, the Chicken Run caters for older riders who want to start eventing, or riders wanting to try a green horse without any presure.

Tiffany Northall riding HH Twiggy competed in the Boilers 2B at the 14th running of the "Chicken Run ODE" in aid of the RDA Moss Vale Centre. This event normally raises enough money through entry fees, an excellent raffle and a canteen of home made delights, to keep the RDA ponies feed and shod for the year.

Karen Mchugh and Marley rode in the Good Eggs division cross rails showjumping. The riders are given a score for each section but they are not added together to find a winner, so really the riders are just competing with themselves to improve and enjoy the day.

Charlotte Storer rode Domino in the Bantams Prep 2 in the poles showjumping. When you enter the Chicken Run you pick a dressage section and you are given a start time. Then on the day you pick your showjumping height, poles, cross rails, 60cms or 75cms.

Susan Henshall rode her Australian Stock Horse, Sonnet in the Boilers 2B. Susan and all the riders wearing the pink caps are members of the Hollyhall Farm "League of nevous gentleman", a mature aged group of riders who meet weekly to ride and enjoy their horses.
