The Isle of Wight Farm 7th Elite Young Stock Auction - 13th Jun 2012

Sunday 27th May dawned fine and clear after several days of rain for the Isle of Wight Farm 7th Elite Young Stock Auction. An amazing team of volunteers put on this event which many a 'professional' would be proud of. With full catering, VIP lunches and trade stands including O'Dea's Saddlery, Strathbogie Floats, Kiah Equine with the incredible WOW saddles, Equissage, Compleat Feeds and the National Centre for Equine Education, there was something for everyone – and we haven't even mentioned the horses!

As usual, David and his team turned out an exceptional number of quality young stock for the astute buyer. Horses ranged from eighteen months old to newly broken ridden horses so there was a wide range to choose from. David's auctions are there to promote and sell his young stock. Prices are realistic and reasonable. You could honestly go to one of David's auction and know that you were going to go home with a horse, either one to start riding and competing now, or a future champion to tuck away in the paddock for a few years. As one bidder was heard to say 'I've been to all of David's auctions and usually have my favourites picked out. At this auction, I'd be happy to take home any one of them'.

Horses were sold on the day to bidders from all over Victoria and New South Wales. Bidders came from as far away as Perth (via phone!). Enquiries and negotiations continue on several lots from the rest of Australia and New Zealand.

Isle of Wight Farm would like thank all of the volunteers who make the day possible and congratulate the buyers on their new equine friends. They look forward to hearing how your partnerships develop and wish you many years of fun and success.
