Victorian Eventers Association Rider Of The Year Cocktail Party - 27th Jun 2012

Rider Of The Year, this year's winner was Will Enzinger after a fantastic season with his team of two and three star horses. Last year's winner, Katja Weimann was runner up and Edith Kane, Natalie Davies and Emily Anker rounded out the top 5.

The Victorian Eventers Association (VEA) Rider Of The Year Cocktail Party was held in Docklands, Melbourne on Saturday 23rd June to celebrate the highs and lows the 2011/2012 Eventing season. This inaugural event acknowledges the winners of three awards each year- Eventing Rider Of The Year (ROTY), Amateur Eventing Rider Of the Year (AROTY) and Eventing Horse Of The Year (HOTY).
Amateur Riders are defined by their level of competition over the last five years and those who have competed 1* and below are eligible, this award always attracts hot competition! Chelsea Priestly was 2012's winner on winner on 53 points; Naomi White following in second place on 37 points fourth went to Linda Williams followed by Isabella Walsh. AROTY winners received great prizes from Horseland and Horse Minder with the winner also receiving a complement entry to the 2013 Melbourne International Three Day Event.
The big kids prize is Rider Of The Year and this year's winner was Will Enzinger after a fantastic season with his team of two and three star horses. Last year's winner, Katja Weimann was runner up and Edith Kane, Natalie Davies and Emily Anker rounded out the top 5. ROTY Top 5 winners received prizes from Horseland, entries into the 2012 Melbourne Royal Exhibition Eventing and as for AROTY the winner of ROTY also receives a complement entry to the 2013 Melbourne International Three Day Event.
Horse Of The Year recognises well performed horses and their owners. This year's winner was Ruben Son owned by David and Sharna Glover and ridden by Will Enginzer.
