Horse killed & driver in serious condition - SE of SA - 27th Jun 2012
Police are currently at the scene of a serious crash South of Mount Gambier in the South East of South Australia.

At about 2.30am today on Bay Road, a white Holden sedan collided with a horse, killing the animal, and the car then drove through several fences before stopping.

A 30-year-old man from Allendale East was taken to the Mount Gambier hospital with serious head injuries. He was the only occupant of the car.

Road closures are in place along the nearby Riddoch Highway, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
