Not even a Reserve Spot for Beresford!

In another snub to dressage rider Hayley Beresford, selectors cited team harmony when overlooking her for a Games reserve spot. Beresford was left on the outer yesterday when veteran Rozzie Ryan, a 56-year-old with no Olympics experience, was named the sole reserve for the dressage team. Beresford had claimed the selectors were biased after she was overlooked for the three-strong dressage team, comprising Lyndal Oatley, Kristy Oatley and Mary Hanna. The Oatleys are granddaughters of billionaire businessman Bob Oatley, an equestrian benefactor. ''The ability to positively contribute to the team is essential for an Olympic Games, and in the interest of team harmony the dressage selectors have chosen to appoint Rozzie,'' Equestrian Australia said.|
