| The Olympic rings can now be seen by visitors flying into London for the Games after the giant symbol was mown into the grass at Richmond Park. The logo measures 300m by 135m tall and is visible from the Heathrow flightpath. Six shire horses which have been used for centuries in the park, performed the task and will be used to maintain the logo throughout the Olympics. Richmond Park is one of several landmarks across the UK bearing the symbol, including Tower Bridge and St Pancras Station. The park will also serve as part of the route for road race cycling at the Games. | |
