Today Tom McDermott jumped the only double clear to win the Sydney Royal Grand Prix riding his own, Jennie and Greg McDermott's imported Clinton mare, 'Elegance de a Charmille'. The mare was declared Best Performed Section 1 Horse and at just eight years old, she also took out the Julie Wilson Equestrian Photography prize for best Performed Young Jumping Hose of the Show.
Today Tom McDermott jumped the only double clear to win the Sydney Royal Grand Prix riding his own, Jennie and Greg McDermott's imported Clinton mare, 'Elegance de a Charmille'. The mare was declared Best Performed Section 1 Horse and at just eight years old, she also took out the Julie Wilson Equestrian Photography prize for best Performed Young Jumping Hose of the Show.
There was a great deal of conversation as to who international dressage rider and former hack rider, Maree Tomkinson would chose as Champion Hack. In the end she chose the ultimate show horse, 'Rolex II' nominated by Michelle Labahn and ridden by Kaitlin Labahn -Meyland. "In the end" said Maree,"it was an easy choice. He is a beautiful show horse with three good paces and he carries himself well". Rolex II and Kaitlin are with Maree and presenter Fiona Meadows.
