Merrick Ubank, pictured riding 'Up n' Down' took third place in the World Cup riding his 'Dover Street,  which jumped four and four over the two rounds. 'Dover Street' had a spectacular Six Bar Victory last night, jumping well over six feet (over 1.80m).

Renee Simpson from Cairns claimed the Thoroughbred Mare Hack class with her 'Kalykulya'. The Thoroughbred Hack classes were judged "on the circle by South African, Gregory Goss, immediatly after and in the led judging ring. It really made the most of the Thoroughbred day and was agreat success.

Tuesady was Thoroughbred day at the EKKA. All morning they constituted the only classes on the main arena. The judging arena was surrounded by a picket fence and seating on three quarters. The stars of the day were the Thoroughbreds and if you needed any encouragement to attend, all spectators were offered a free buffet lunch, and a good one too. The day was sponsored by the Thoroughbred Marketing Group of Queensland.
