The start of the event was delayed by an hour due to heavy over night rain, however with Tamworth in level five water restrictions no one was complaining. Here Karl Burton from Jondaryn Qld rides Loretta Finch's Docs Admiral by Sunshine Okie to score 135 in the first round of the Barcode Direct Snaffle Bit Cutting Futurity.

This year Jason and Dual N Spin just missed out on a place in the Derby final after two good go-rounds. However joined by owner Eli Vogel from Clermont Qld this young stallion scored 141 in the first go-round of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby.

Described in the local paper as "the horse whisperer rather than Whispering Jack", John Farnham looked to enjoy all of his 2 1/2 minutes of his exciting ride aboard Picola Fortissimo by Freckles Fortissimo in the first go-round of the Quest Apartments Non Pro Derby. The crowd also had fun with the eventful ride but the judges were not so impressed with a 120 score.
