How did he come into your life?
Guess we were both lucky I found him.


What was your reaction when you first laid eyes on him?
I cried.

When did you realise he had the goods to succeed in the show ring?
When Tom was about a 2 or 3 year old he started to bloom.

What was he like to halter train and were there any issues?
He was the first halter horse I had trained and he was a great boy to train, at times he did like things his own way!

What was his first show and how did he cope in the show environment?
It was the CCQHA he was only a yearling and he took everything in his stride.

When did he exceed your expectations?
Tom exceeded my expectations the day I got him with his will to live.

Most annoying habit or quirk?
He hunts me down for his treats.

Strongest personality trait?
He likes to think he is the boss.

How would you mark his report card on work ethic?
Tom’s work ethic is 100% at all times, even when he is off he gives.

His weekly training regime?
Tom gets worked every day apart from Sundays as this is his day off. He is lunged for 20 minutes, sweated while I work other horses then he has a nice hot oil bath which he loves.

How does he handle the competition pressure?
Tom handles competition like no other horse I have seen, he knows his job and loves every minute of it.

He has already enjoyed huge success at National level and with the PHAA and Q19 just around the corner, is his preparation on track?
Yes, his preparation is right on track for the Q19 and The HBGA and he is enjoying it.

First thing on your shopping list for him?
Licorice.

When was the last time he made you laugh or cry?
Winning the Hi Point Halter Gelding of Australia - I laughed and I cried.

Most treasured moment together so far?
Having Tom in my life every day and seeing his beautiful face every day.

What celebrity does he remind you of?
The Incredible Hulk - but a chestnut one!

What would you trade him for?
I wouldn’t trade Tom for anything, I promised him he would always stay with me forever.
