Two former Olympians, a former federal politician and the proud father of a child with a disability are among the South Australians recognised in Australia Day honours.
Sadly though for one of the most recognisable names Gillian Rolton the award is posthumous.
The Olympic dual-gold medallist and architect of Adelaide's three-day equestrian event died of cancer last November, and has been awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
"Fortunately she knew she'd been nominated," her husband Greg Rolton said.
