Cattle musterer and horse killed by falling trees in storm

A cattle musterer and his horse have died after being hit by two falling trees near the western Queensland town of Augathella, north-east of Charleville.

The 77-year-old man was mustering cattle with a group of workers when a storm hit, bringing wind and rains, a Queensland Police Service spokesperson said.

A nearby tree snapped and hit the rider and his horse, and a second tree later fell on them.
