Charlotte Dujardin Wins Windsor CDI4* Grand Prix With Erlentanz, Valegro Meets Queen Elizabeth II

WINDSOR, England, May 9, 2019–Charlotte Dujardin on Erlentanz was the dominating winner of the CDI4* Grand Prix Thursday but a highlight of the Royal Windsor Horse Show was Queen Elizabeth II visiting with Valegro, Charlotte and Carl Hester.

The queen, at 93 years of age and the longest reigning British monarch, clearly enjoyed the meeting with “Blueberry” at her castle 22 miles/33km from London where the show is being staged.

“There have been so many special moments with this horse,” Charlotte wrote on her Facebook page after the visit, “and then there is this. What an honor and a complete privilege…”

Charlotte, winner of gold at both London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics on Valegro now 17 years old, was competing Erlentanz in only the second CDI for the pair and posting their first victory.
