Coronavirus Resurgence Near German Equestrian Center in Warendorf Triggers Reimposition of Lockdown

A major resurgence of coronavirus near Warendorf has led to re-imposition of a lockdown on the German Equestrian Federation community and the cancellation of horse competitions just as 3 1/2 months of restrictions were easing.

The new lockdown was triggered by an outbreak in which 1,540 of 6,140 slaughterhouse employees, and some additional family members, tested positive for Covid-19 in the east of North Rhine-Westphalia, according to the World newspaper.

The newspaper said that the new restrictions will initially apply until the end of June but the state health minister was reported as saying they could be extended.
