Darren Weir case adjourned

The animal cruelty case against champion trainer Darren Weir and his associates has been adjourned until Wednesday, as police investigators seek legal advice regarding their covert surveillance of Weir's operations.

Weir is facing a committal hearing via videolink in the Ballarat Magistrates Court, with his co-accused, trainer Jarrod McLean, retired jockey William Hernan and stablehand Tyson Kermond.

The case centres on video evidence that allegedly shows electric shocks being administered to horses, using a device called a 'jigger'.
