Edward Gal Rides Totilas Sons Toto Jr, Total US to Top 2 Places in Exloo CDI3* Grand Prix, Britain’s Charlotte Fry on Everdale, Dark Legend 3rd & 4th

EXLOO, Netherlands, May 5, 2021–Edward Gal rode Totilas son, Glock’s Toto Jr., to the highest score by a Dutch combination this year to win the Hippisch Centrum CDI3* Grand Prix Wednesday with Total US, also a Totilas son, runner-up just 11 weeks before the scheduled start of the Tokyo Olympics. Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry on Everdale and Dark Legend placed third and fourth, respectively.

The score of 78.826% for Edward and Toto, a 10-year-old Hanoverian stallion, was a personal best in the pair’s second Big Tour event–having posted 77.978% in the debut Grand Prix two weeks ago. Two of the five judges awarded the pair marks above 80% Wednesday.

Edward and Glock’s Total US, nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion, was second on 77.783%, also only their second Big Tour event, the first being the same show with Toto Jr two weeks ago.

Edward competed Totilas at Big Tour for just 15 months in 2009-2010 to become a global celebrity partnership including a sweep of the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky as the pair’s last competition before the horse was sold to Germany. Totilas died last December at the age of 20.
