Entries open for the 2018 Royal Melbourne Show Horses in Action Competition

Entries are open for the 2018 Royal Melbourne Show Horses in Action Competition, with an impressive line-up of local, interstate, and international judges, and the chance to win over $100,000 in trophies and prizes.

Conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), the 2018 Royal Melbourne Show Horses in Action program is expected to attract more than 2,500 entries across more than 250 classes in competition events scheduled from Saturday 22 September to Tuesday 2 October at Melbourne Showgrounds.

“We’re proud to showcase our feature events, including the Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout and the FEI World Cup Qualifier, along with our traditionally distinguished favourites and some exciting new classes”, said Paul Guerra, CEO, RASV.

The coveted Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout is in its 84th year and is one of Australia’s most prestigious showing events for female riders, offering more than $10,000 in prize money and trophies.

RASV is committed to maximizing the appeal and success of the Royal Melbourne Show Horses in Action program for all participants across various competition sections including saddle horse, showjumping, stock horses, hunting, Clydedales, and Harness.

2018 timetable:
 Show Jumping: Saturday 22 September - Tuesday 25 September
 Ponies and Junior events: Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 September
 Led Clydesdales: Friday 28 September
 Galloways: Friday 28 and Saturday 29 September
 Hacks: Friday 28 and Saturday 29 September
 Turnouts and Riding: Sunday 30 September
 Harness and Hunting: Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 October

Entries open: Thursday 26 April
