Financial woes may force closure of State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon

ONE of the few remaining relics from the infamous WA Inc era — the State Equestrian Centre at Brigadoon — will shut its doors if it cannot find $15 million in Federal and State funding.

Once the playground of the Alan Bonds and Laurie Connells during the high-flying 1980s but now the affiliated home of 93 equine clubs and their 10,000 members, the venue’s infrastructure is crumbling after 33 years.
