Horse trainer indefinitely suspended while police charges pending

Horse trainer Jarrod McLean has been indefinitely suspended by Racing Victoria while police charges for animal cruelty and conspiracy to defraud stewards are pending.

Registered stable employee Tyson Kermond, who didn’t attend Thursday’s day-long Racing Victoria stewards inquiry at Flemington, and William Hernan have also been indefinitely banned from the sport.

All three have been charged with refusing to give evidence at Thursday’s inquiry under racing rules.

Hernan will be suspended until he faces his charge.
