Horse trainer outed for lack of vet care

Country trainer Tony Romeo has been suspended for 12 months for failing to provide veterinary treatment to three retired racehorses in his care.

Romeo, 66, pleaded guilty to failing to provide vet care to the former gallopers Rinaldo, French Blue and We're Gonna Rock, on his Diggers Rest property up to July 6 last year after stewards found the horses were malnourished. Nine months of the ban were suspended for two years.
