Katie Laurie Crowned Champion at Aquis Champions Tour Final Day

The top 30 Combinations from the two Gold Qualifiers made it through to today’s Horsepower Grand Prix. Two of the combinations in contention for the top prize of $45,000 included High Performance Green Squad riders Billy Raymont and Jamie Kermond.

The impressive course was designed by German Course Designer Klaus-Wilhelm Holle and measured at 1.60m, promising an exciting and nerve wracking first round with twelve combinations making it through to the second round.

However, it was Katie Laurie and the stunning grey stallion Casebrooke Lomond that delivered a nail-biting round to take the win in a time of 54.89 seconds. “I’m speechless, he tried his heart out. He loves the wet going” said Laurie of her win.

Reigning Australian Champion Amber Fuller on CP Aretino came in second, third went to Gabbi Kuna on Cera Casiago, fourth was Merrick Ubank and Alantinus, and rounding out the top five was Chris Chugg on PSS Levilensky.

Congratulations to all competitors, and to Aquis Champions Tour, for once again taking our sport in Australia to the next level with an oustanding show.
