Major Funding Boost for Australian Athletes

Yesterday the Federal Budget revealed it will deliver more than $158 million of new investment directly to Sport Australia and the AIS to fund grassroots through to Australia’s high performance athletes.

An additional $54.1 million will be invested in high performance sport over the next two years. Australian athletes, especially emerging athletes of the future, will benefit from the major new funding commitment, including equestrian.

“Funding is a critical component of not only our current high performance program but also for the future cycle of equestrian athletes. This latest investment by the Australian Government will offer not only those at an elite level the opportunity to continue to thrive, but also support those at grassroots and emerging levels.

The EA High Performance Panel thanks the Australian Government and Minister for Sport, Bridget McKenzie, for this investment in the future of our sport.” said Chris Webb, EA High Performance Sports Director.
