Marcus Oldham named as major sponsor for Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships

Marcus Oldham College has again agreed to be the naming rights sponsor for the national interschool equestrian championships, to be held 1-5 October at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre.

Interschool Victoria will host the event, to be known as the Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships and expects around 500 interschool competitors and several thousand additional family members, supporters, volunteers, coaches, judges and other officials to attend.
Marcus Oldham Principal Dr Simon Livingstone and Director of Equine Management Emma Morel said they were delighted to be involved.

“As a leading equine education institution, Marcus Oldham is pleased to support this national championship and its hundreds of students as they put forward their best endeavours in dressage, jumping, combined training and show horse,” Mrs Morel said.

“The students learn an enormous amount from competing, and the event is a natural fit for Marcus Oldham with its leadership in equine education.”

Marcus Oldham is an agricultural and equine business management tertiary education institution located in Geelong, Victoria. Internationally recognised by major sectors of the horse industry, the Marcus Oldham Diploma of Equine Management equips students with the business skills, horse husbandry experience and scientific knowledge necessary for a successful career in their chosen field, whether it be breeding, racing, equestrian or other related activities.

Lisa Hocking, Interschool Victoria Committee Chair, said this was the second year running that Marcus Oldham had agreed to be naming rights sponsor.

“We greatly appreciate the generosity and support of Marcus Oldham and look forward to working in partnership with them to run this major event,” she said.

Matthew Brown, CEO of Equestrian Victoria, also commented, “The Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Equestrian State Championships is a huge event for Victoria and the support of sponsors such as Marcus Oldham helps to make it possible.

“Werribee Park is in an ideal, central location and we look forward to welcoming students and their families travelling from Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory, to participate in this fantastic event.”
