Outback rodeos and racing plan to spring back to life from August

The first outback events for 2020 have started locking in dates as the Queensland Government continues to ease COVID-19 restrictions.

In north-west Queensland, the cattle station-based Yelvertoft and Saxby campdrafts have decided to merge their events for a reduced program in Julia Creek in August.

Further south, the Jundah Race Club is holding an event in September and the Longreach Rodeo is pencilled in for October.

While the smaller events are finding ways to go ahead, most major events in the bush including the Mount Isa Rodeo and the Birdsville Races have been cancelled for 2020.
