Owner accused of stealing millions

Leading racehorse owner Amer Abdulaziz Salman allegedly stole €100 million (A$162m) before launching his global business Phoenix Thoroughbreds which experienced Group 1 success during this year’s Melbourne spring carnival.

Racing Post reports the claim was made during the testimony of Konstantin Ignatov, co-founder of fake cryptocurrency OneCoin, through the trial of US lawyer Mark Scott who was found guilty of fraud and laundering US$400m in illegal funds for creators of OneCoin on Thursday.

Ignatov pleaded guilty to money laundering earlier in November as part of an estimated US$4b (A$5.9b) ponzi scheme scam with speculation the figure could be at least double that amount.
