Return to show ring a champion effort for Black Saturday survivor

IN AN era when winning in the show ring can often be taken for granted, two champion rosettes could not mean more to horse breeder and Black Saturday survivor Karen Parrish.

On November 12 last year — with the support of friend Kristy Marcon — Karen finally loaded her float and made it down the driveway of her new home at Kyabram in northern Victoria to be part of her first show since 2009. She watched ringside as Kristy led Karen’s mare Karanah Park Ta Da in two breed rings, winning championships in both.
