Russell Johnstone and Daprice Jump to Victory in Adelaide

One of the feature classes at the Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event was the hotly contested ATCO Australian World Cup Qualifier.

Some of Australia's best jumping riders made the journey to Adelaide to attempt to take out the top prize, and to also jump one step closer to their Tokyo 2020 qualification.

The class thrilled spectators in the Gillian Roltan Main Arena as the crowd gathered to cheer on their favourite combinations.

Ultimately it was Russell Johnstone and the stunning Daprice who emerged victorious when the competition concluded.

Russell and Daprice were the only combination to jump a double clear over the two round competition securing their place on top of the leaderboard.

"This is such a great venue, in front of the grandstand is quite an experience. I want to thank the owners, the McCanns they are great to ride for. We have had a serious injury with this horse 12 months ago we actually weren't really sure we would still have him competing, so also a thanks to the Ballarat vet clinic. I am thrilled with him he is going great and it is a real pleasure riding him" said Russell of his impressive win.

Coming in a close second was Billy Raymont riding Anton with only one rail down in the first round and a clean second round. Third place was awarded to Kaie Laurie riding Cera Caruso.
