Salisbury laid to rest

Subzero stood near the mounting yard at Bendigo Racecourse on Monday, watching on as best mate and industry icon Graham Salisbury was laid to rest.

It's how Salisbury would have wanted it. Leaving this earth before his best mate, because there's no way he would have wanted to imagine life without the Melbourne Cup champion.

The ceremony may have been small due to COVID-19 restrictions, but those that spoke during the 90-minute-long service on Monday gave just a little insight into the impact Salisbury had on the lives of them and the wider community.
