Trainer hospitalised with head injury

Racing Victoria has confirmed a 76-year-old licensed trainer has been airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in a stable but critical condition after an incident at the Cranbourne Training Complex on Friday morning.

It is believed the trainer suffered a serious head injury when kicked by a horse when unloading it from a float.

Cranbourne Turf Club CEO Neil Bainbridge confirmed the incident had taken place in the float car park but said details of the situation were still coming to light and that Victoria Police and WorkSafe Victoria were investigating.
