Unsung Heroes - Kevin Wynne

As 77-year-old Kevin Wynne puts it, 'there's no good laying down'.

The clerk of the course has fallen off the horse plenty of times and broken lots of bones, but it will never stop him riding.

"It's a bit harder getting on (the horse) now than a few years ago, you stiffen up a little bit," Wynne told Racing.com as part of Unsung Heroes week.

"I broke the right leg between the knee and the ankle, both bones. The left leg between the knee and the ankle, both bones. Fractured skull, one broken collarbone, dislocated two collarbones, couple of ribs.

"I've seen it all, been in it, fell off, done the lot. You get back on, there's no good laying down.
