USA’s Steffen Peters Tops Global Dressage Festival Prize Money Earnings, Yvonne Losos de Muñiz of Dominican Republic Second Ranked

WELLINGTON, Florida, April 5, 2021–Steffen Peters topped the Global Dressage Festival prize money earnings for the 2021 winter-long circuit of seven CDIs with more than 125 riders from 17 nations sharing in the total purse. A total of 597 combinations competed in Global CDIs this winter, a decline of less than eight per cent from the 644 rides in 2020 despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the equine herpes outbreak in Europe in early February.

Steffen of San Diego, California won a total of $39,425, according to calculations by dressage-news.com. Most of the earnings were on his U.S. team mount Suppenkasper that completed an unbroken string of 19 victories beginning in Wellington in January 2020 and running through to the end of February this year in the rider’s campaign for a spot on his fifth American Olympic team.

Yvonne Losos de Muñiz of the Dominican Republic earned a total of $34,950 for second ranking, all of it on Aquamarijn. Yvonne who has already qualified as an individual for the Tokyo Olympics also clinched an invitation to the World Cup in Sweden that was to have been held last week but was canceled for the second year in a row amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
