Vale Peter Imran Winton

The Australian Equestrian Community is deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Winton, who lost his long battle with cancer this week.

For more than 30 years Peter contributed to the advancement of jumping in both Australia and overseas. Peter’s passion for equestrian sport was unwavering seeing him participate as an international competitor throughout his riding career, and as part of the high performance program later in life.

Peter was the Australian Jumping Team Chef d’Equipe from 1987 - 1993 and more recently, in 2017, was appointed as a National Jumping Selector.

“We are saddened by the news of Peters passing. Peter was a dedicated advocate for the sport of jumping and supported the Australian team throughout the course of his life. His knowledge, skill and contribution to jumping will be greatly missed by the entire community” said Graeme Watts, Chair of Australian Jumping Selectors.

Equestrian Australia extend our deepest condolences to Peter’s family.
