Winx to be a mum - but owners likely to hang on to offspring

Champion mare Winx will be announced as pregnant to I Am Invincible after the standard 45-day test takes place later this week.

The ownership group of Peter Tighe, Debbie Kepitis and Richard Treweeke were "not confirming or denying" reports in The Australian Winx was pregnant on Thursday. They will wait for the 45-day test before making any official statement.

Winx was the winner of her last 33 starts in a row with 25 of them at group 1 level, including four Cox Plates. She was mated with Australia's champion stallion in I Am Invincible at Yarraman Park.
