Winx's Snitzel sibling unlikely to race

The hopes of unearthing another Winx-like superstar are back on ice after news the champion mare's three-year-old half-sister Courchevel is unlikely to make it to the racetrack.

Breeder John Camilleri confirmed on Wednesday that Courchevel, who is by Snitzel and who he retained as a yearling, had left the Melbourne stables of Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace and was now in Sydney where she will be re-assessed, with the breeder noting that 'it is likely she will retire unraced'.

If so, Courchevel will become the fourth foal out of Vegas Showgirl unable to race, following Miss Atom Bomb (2010), Win Win Leader (2012) and Boulder City (2014).
