Wooroloo Bounces Back - Take Two!

Following a last-minute local lockdown that impacted the original May event date, organisers are determined that the Bates Saddles Wooroloo CCN will go ahead in style this weekend (10-11 July).

The volunteer committee has banded together to pull off a top-class event in tricky circumstances, despite another local lockdown hampering the July event’s early preparations too.

“We are so grateful to the exceptional efforts of so many exceptional people who have pulled together to get our event over the line,” said Event Chair Kerrie Robbins. “COVID restrictions have done their best to interrupt us, but thanks to the fantastic cooperation between our course designer, Wayne Copping (unable to travel from South Australia due to restrictions), and our local champions Alan Campbell and Tom Compagnoni, we will have a wonderful weekend of eventing this weekend,” she continued.

“They have been ably supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who all deserve special mention. Bryce Crook, Tegan Cook, Peter Hickson, Robert James and John Highley have all donated hundreds of hours, often in the pouring rain, to get all the fences built, painted, repaired, sited and dressed,” added Kerrie. “Bring your wet weather gear and studs for your horse - we hope that now the weather gods are kind to us!”

Bates Saddles Wooroloo CCN takes place at Wooroloo Prison Farm in the Perth Hills, by kind permission of the Department of Corrective Services. This will be a COVID-safe event, run in line with current Government guidelines.

Bates Saddles are providing a number of great prizes including a Bates Advanta saddle. All combinations who start at both Bates Saddles Wooroloo CCN and Bates Saddles Wooroloo International Three Day Event (27-29 August) will be entered into a free prize draw to win the saddle.

Bates Saddles Wooroloo CCN is signed from the Gt Eastern Highway, 8km from Chidlow.

Entry is free for spectators, and there will be refreshments available.
