'You can't be trusted': Bega Valley woman sentenced after being found guilty of neglecting more than 40 horses

A NSW south coast woman will serve a 15 month jail sentence under strict supervision in the community, after being found guilty of neglecting more than 40 horses in her care.

Janice Louise Denny was today convicted in the Bega Local Court on six charges, including being in charge of an animal and failing to provide vet treatment, and failing to provide proper and sufficient food to an animal.

The offences took place at properties in Tantawangalo, Candelo and Wolumla in 2020, impacting 43 horses.

The majority of horses experienced overall poor body condition, but one pony experienced a dental disease, while another horse suffered from an untreated abscess.
