Competitive Dressage/Interschools Pony

The time has finally come to offer this beautiful gelding to a competitive and ambitious rider.

"Sammy D Jnr" is an 8yo gelding, life measured at 14.1 1/4hh, reg EV.

I have bought him along steadily in his training, with inconsistent and limited outings due to my lack of time. He's recently been twice Novice Pony Champion (the last one with a 12yo rider) and has also commenced Elementary with some solid scores and plenty of positive feedback.

Sammy is consistently training all lateral work including shoulder in, travers, renvers, half pass, walk pirouettes etc and is getting stronger and more confident in them all the time. Counter canter and simple changes are also coming along well and he won't be too far off introducing flying changes.

Having had the time to really get to know him, I believe Sammy will be best suited to a confident young rider or small adult who is capable of riding through their seat and can ride with soft, elastic hands. If his rider can give him confidence, then he'll give anything a go for you.

I've recently been lucky enough to have a talented 12yo rider take him for a couple of "sleepovers" to gain some miles as a kids pony, he's been on trail rides and to PC grounds, and introduced to SJ and XC jumping for the first time!

Sammy occasionally can have a spook, however generally shows very little of this when in regular work (4 days/week) and when his rider can give him confidence. He will sense if a rider is nervous which will then create tension in himself.

He's been brilliant to take out to competitions, doesn't get anxious if on his own. No "work down" required and in general, nothing much about competition life seems to phase him unless it's a super busy warm up arena where he may become slightly intimidated, but not at all silly.

He absolutely loves being the centre of attention, always stands at the gate ready to come in for work, loves being brushed/washed/clipped and just being loved in general!

Super easy on the ground, brilliant to float and take out. My 6yo daughter can mount him and walk him around on her own, as well as lead him around busy Werribee Park.

Lovely clean, straight legs and 3 correct and rhythmic paces with lovely swing to his back.

Reason for sale is only due to pregnancy and limited time, I would absolutely love to bring him up the levels myself if I could.

It's most important that I find Sammy's "person" and I will be super fussy around ensuring his new owner is matched perfectly to him, I only want to see him continue to develop and reach the potential I know he has! He has so much love and enjoyment to give in the right hands.
