The always in demand "Travelling Horseman", Richard Sharman did the honours with K L & E Hansen's imported 'Sianwood Sh'Boom' (Sianwood Arcade/Abercrychan Antonia) to take out the Champion Stallion and Supreme Welsh Pony Exhibit awards.

Susan and Barton Clarke's 'Gneevebrack Storm' imp (Monaghanstown Prince/Gneevebrack) was declared Champion Stallion and Supreme Connemara Pony Exhibit. The pony is pictured with L-R judge, Robert McCarthy from County Down in Ireland and handler, Gary Johnston. Judge McCarthy declared the Connemara a "general purpose animal".

Anthony Kohler (at the reins) drove his 'Carbery Estate Oliver' to equal second place in the class for Single Horse Lorry Turnout for Medium/Heavy Horse. Groom, Brayden Horse is ready to jump in to action.

Geoffrey Nalder is pictured driving his Miniature Pony, 'Iris Sebn' in the class for Driven Stallion.

Christian Reibsdorf is on the move with RG Dunn's Champion Welsh Mountain Pony Stallion, 'Shalida Park Sebastian' (Nattai Salsbri/Nattai Snowlady'.

Heidi Gears is pictured with the Arawel Lodge's Champion Mare (Broodmare winner) and Supreme Welsh Mountain Pony, 'Nilton Minuette' (Nattai Madog/Nilton Marquette).

Joanne Bensley is pictured on the move with the Bensley Family's charming 'Pen-nant High Flyer' (Durrant Gentleman Jack/Rivington Heirloom) that won the Stallion class and went on to be declared Best Welsh Cob Exhibit.

Well known Queensland showing identity, Frank Thompson is pictured on the move with the Jasheeka Pony Stud's 'Indi Party Girl' (Alcheringa Warlock/Wingana Play Girl) tat won the class for Welsh Cob Mare.

Glenis Miller presented her own and Brian and Daphne Miller's 'Ridgeldoo George' (Henderwen Aba Express imp/Cwmkaren Brehines) to win the class for Welsh Cob Gelding.

Melissa Plucknett rode PM & D Teys' 'Cherrington Park Demitrius' to win the class for Welsh Pony Under Saddle.

Well known reinsman, Terry Goodear drove his 'Boots' to take out the award for Champion Single Delivery Horse Turnout.

Ross Porter drove his 'Charles' pulling a very attractive vehicle, to win the Decorated Heavy/Medium Single Horse Turnout.

Sarah Jones rode C & K Jones' 'Aranui Slone' to take third place in the class for Welsh Pony Under Saddle.

Laura Stevens rode the Robinson Family's 'Warrienwood Duplicate' to fifth place in the class for Welsh Pony Under Saddle.

Jessica Dubbleman drove Doug Farmer's 'Nostalga's Man With The Money' to third place in the Stallion In Harness class.

Trevor Kohler drove his 'Carbery Estate Archie' to take out the Reserve Championship in the Medium/Heavy Single Horse Turnout.

Stephanie Evans drove AR and GA Evans' good going 'Koorootang Highlander' to claim the award for Champion Miniature/Shetland In Harness for the fourth occasion.

Well known and successful Miniature Horse exhibitor, Doug Farmer drove his well named 'WF Spectacular Arrival' to fourth place in the class for Stallion In Harness.

Ross Lawson did the honours with Kevin Snow's, 'Skymist Wagtayl' (Langfield Canth imp/Shelanda Sunglow) that won the Stallion class and was declared Best Dartmoor Pony Exhibit.

The EKKA always has a spectacular showing of beef cattle and this year was no exception. During the lengthy Championship judging this afternoon, some clearly sat it out. Once the cattle had their moment on the Main Arena, it was time for the horses to take over after lunch on the second day of the show.

Vince Corvi drove the Corvi Beggs and Cowan nomination, 'Hudson Valentina' to take out yet another Hackney Horse Championship. The five year old Valentina won her Novice class at Sydney earlier in the year and was bred by the Duddy family using the Mary Willsallen bloodlines. Valentina is a beautiful mare with a lovely, smooth and correct movement.

Peter Scriven drove his own and Roslyn Kingston's charming Miniature horse, 'Scott Creek Daysprings Showkayce' to third place in the class for Miniature Pony/Horse/Shetland Pneumatic Vehicle Turnout .
