The always in demand  "Travelling Horseman", Richard Sharman did the honours with K L & E Hansen's imported 'Sianwood Sh'Boom' (Sianwood Arcade/Abercrychan Antonia) to take out the Champion Stallion and Supreme Welsh Pony Exhibit awards.

Susan and Barton Clarke's 'Gneevebrack Storm' imp (Monaghanstown Prince/Gneevebrack) was declared Champion Stallion and Supreme Connemara Pony Exhibit.  The pony is pictured with L-R judge, Robert McCarthy from County Down in Ireland and handler, Gary Johnston. Judge McCarthy declared the Connemara a "general  purpose animal".

The EKKA always has a spectacular showing of beef cattle and this year was no exception. During the lengthy Championship judging this afternoon, some clearly sat it out. Once the cattle had their moment on the Main Arena, it was time for the horses to take over after lunch on the second day of the show.

Vince Corvi drove the Corvi Beggs and Cowan nomination, 'Hudson Valentina' to take out yet another Hackney Horse Championship.  The five year old Valentina won her Novice class at Sydney earlier in the year and was bred by the Duddy family using the Mary Willsallen bloodlines. Valentina is a beautiful mare with a lovely, smooth and correct movement.
