The Girl rider classes at Canberra are always well attended.

Sarah Raffen from Wallacia won the class for Girl Riders 7 and under 9 years.

Katie Peeck from Wagga was delighted to win the Girl Rider 9 and under 11 years class.

Stuart Lavelle from Temora added to the family haul at Canberra by taking out the Boy Rider Under 13 years Championship.

Warren Barlow drives the well-performed, 'Nagero Grasshopper' who was declared Champion Non Hackney Harness Pony. Exhibited by R & W & Miss K Barlow.

Christine Frost declared that 'you won't get the smile off my face' after her first ever Royal Show hack class victory with the lovely 'Dashing' who took out the 15.2-16hh class.

Successful young rider, Emma Gittoes was declared Champion Girl Rider under 13 years.

The wonder hackney, 'Woodhurst Countess' was driven to claim yet another Hackney Pony Campionship. Countess went on to claim a 'hat trick' of Canberra Supreme Champion Harness Exhibit titles. Exhibited by Vince Corvi, Margaret Beggs and Terry Cowan.

Deanne Benton from Murrumbateman won the Open Hack 16-16.2hh class with her 'Sir Trafalgar'.

Bob Pierce with Champion Clydesdale Stallion/Colt, Headlands Dougal', exhibited by R & J Pierce.

The Fernbrook Stud's Champion Led Australian Stock Horse Gelding, 'Lone Pine Dodge' took rider, Nicolette Jones-Ryan to victory in the ASHLA class and was declared Champion Ridden Australian Stock Horse.

Jackie Long with her wonderful 'Heza Bruce' won the Ridden Australian Stock Horse Stallion/Colt class and went on to be declared Reserve Champion Ridden ASH.

Sue Peters and Beaufort Nutrition's lovely 'Beaufort Heiress' ridden by Trinette Crawford, won the Heavyweight 14-14.2hh class and went on to be declared Champion Galloway.

Darry Hayes took out the Reserve Galloway Championship with his Victorian Barastoc Champion, 'Alinda Park Make Sure' .

Mark Tarrant won the Over 16.2hh class with his and Anne-Louise Hooker's 'Delarouche' who also carried Mark to the Gentleman Rider Championship.

The Wells Family's 'Weston Park Cradtsman' ridden by Brooke Firth was declared Reserve Champion Small Pony.

Alf Copelin took out the Australian Stock Horse Working Gelding class with 'Wildraft Prodigy', exhibited by the Agland Family, Alf Copelin and L & K O'Brien.

Elanor Gerry's 'LJS Passion Pop' by Janinos Little Joker out of the imported mare, 'Phillipa's Saffron Narine', ridden by Joshua Adams, was declared Champion Small Pony

It's smiles all round for Gabriella Robson and her Champion Large Pony 'Mirinda Royal Emblem'. Gabriella from Swanbourne in Western Australia has brought her multi award winning pony to the east to compete at Canberra, the Grand National and Sydney Royal.

Danielle Drayton rode her 'Barrabool Christopher Wren' to win the Open 12.2-13hh class and went on to take out the Reserve Large Pony Championship. Seen here with judge, Deborah Bell.

Kate Treneman from Rossmore in NSW was delclared Champion Lady Rider.

Hayley Preston had a super 2005 Canberra Royal, which included taking out the Reserve Champion Lady Rider award.

Anthony Hurley was clearly delighted with his Reserve Champion Gentleman Rider award.

It was great to see Vicky Lawrie back in Championship form. Vicky rode the Lyndale Stables, Terry van Heythuysen and Jaclyn Jacobson's 'Crown' to victory in the 15-15.2hh Hack class and went on to take out the Canberra Hack Championship.

Bill Peadon dominated the Working Australian Stock Horse Championship, taking out the Champion title with his and wife Julie's, 'Bibbenluke Annie' and the Reserve Championship with 'Bibbenluke Selena'. Annie carried Bill and Julie's daughter, Jane to victory in the Working class for riders under 17 years.

We are used to seeing Angela Latter ride her 'Skyview Bridie' sidesaddle, but Gina Beck, who is riding the Warmblood mare whilst Angella is overseas, went for broke in the Champion Hack workout (SIdesaddle Hack) and won the applause meter.

Darryl Hayes rode Olivia O'Connor's 'Grenadier Park Vision' to take second place in the Open 15-15.2hh Hack class and went on to take out the Reserve Hack Championship.

The Carlton Clydesdales are always an attractive addition to the Canberra Showground.

The Tent Pegging Teams led the Grand Parade on Saturday Afternoon.
