‘RIDE PROUD’ WESTERN DRESSAGE WA 2022/2023 STATE SHOW
The Western Dressage Association of Western Australia (WDAWA) held their State Show at Foxwood Farm on June 18th. After a couple of weeks of rain we were blessed with sunshine all day although the wind chill factor kept everyone rugged up .. luckily competitors and spectators were able to warm up with piping hot home-made soup, yummy cakes and muffins and unending hot coffee - all supplied free of charge by our wonderful committee!
Christine Eagles was our judge for the day and commented that she was impressed with the quality of the tests ridden and also the friendly, encouraging environment.
The committee worked hard together to share the load of pencilling, marshalling, gear checking, calling and scoring .. it was so wonderful to see everyone pitch in together to pack up the arena ready for presentations.
And what terrific prizes! Each Level Champion received a beautiful custom-made buckle and each Reserve Champion received a custom-made and embroidered halter. There were stunning rosettes and sashes and so many prizes from our wonderful sponsors such as product packs and gift vouchers .. prizes given out to the values of $2000!
It was fabulous to see some new faces at the show and it is always so wonderful to see the improvements in our regular competitors. We have the last show of our NTR Series on July 16th and look forward to another day of horsey fun with friends!
