Despite the heavy rain, Lauren Hartog and 'Special Bidder' look composed and stylish competing in the Power and Speed Jumping competition this morning.

Those lucky enough not to have to ride in the rain took refuge in the Riders Stand. Note the Chatham Park team at lower RHS.

Section 2 competitor, Stephanie Dijkstra is delighted that she does not have a jumping class today. Here she sits warm and dry in the grandstand with L-R Kylie Gianforte, Tim Wilson and Murray Sproull.

Tom and Natalie O'Connor's rather stoic, 'Doongara Daniel' braved the elements to win the Open Pony Hack ne 11hh class.

Susan Cordell's 'Cefton Parc Centurian' took second place in the Open Pony Hack ne11hh.

We have seen Pony Judge, Trinette Crawford look happier. Yesterday for instance. Trinette however, did not conceeded style just because it was raining. We were hovever concerned that the heels of the very smart boots might anchor her to the turf for some time.

Katelin Clark from Hamley Bridge in South Australia won the Good Hands competition for Girls/Boys under 12 Years.

All the ponies worked well in the difficult conditions this morning. Ears back and eyes half shut from the rain, they were in no mood to do more than they had to. Phoebe Schmidt's Open Pony 11-11.2hh winner, 'Dalpura Pearl' demonstrated the attitude to the unfortunate weather.

Dayna Walker-Matthews rode her 'Langtree Lilly-Pilly' to take fourth place in the Open Pony Hack 11-11.2hh class.

Ashlee Anderson rode the Corumbene Stud's well performed, 'Imperial Pippa' to take second place in the Open Pony 11-11.2hh class.

Claire Poolman's hat has attracted a lot of attention for some time. The unique hat band is made up of sheep and cattle tags, for a colourful affect. Claire from McLaren Vale is also known as 'Devil Woman' for her exploits with her ute. She can be seen in action at the Ute Muster next Saturdauy at the show.

Kimberley, Nicole and Danyel Riemer's 'Roseagle Rhapsody' has quite a mortgage on the 11.2-12hh Open Pony class. The mare, ridden by Tessa Hughes won again this morning.

Jacqui Devrome rode her own and E Richardson's 'Mallawa Park Legendary' to take second place in the Open Pony 11.2-12hh class.

Samantha Langridge from Clarendon rode her 'Lincott Soda Pop' to take fourth place in the Open Pony 11.2-13hh class.

Janine Kranz rides her 'Kerulen Talfryn' in trying circumstances in the workout for the Open Pony 11.2-12hh class.

Leanne Fisher from Para Hills in South Australia found a dry spot, (just) to wait out the rain on the second day of the show. Leanne is exhibiting a Galloway at the Royal.

Junior Showjumping rider, Kira Arnold from Hahndorf in South Australia takes her 'Keeping Up Appearances' for a bit of hand walking during the worst of the weather. Notice the very snazzy raincoat on the big chestnut!

Why are we here? Deb Sullivan from Seaford in South Australia contemplates the future of the show with daughter (on left) Lyn and Ray Freund from Coonalpyn. Deb and Lyn are showing Galloways and Hacks at the Royal this year.

Shannen Graham rides her 'Langtree Firebird' in the Open Pony 12.2-13hh workout. Fortunately for the late afternoon classes the weather eased with a promise of good weather for Campion Pony day tomorrow.

Whitney Hunt from Somerville in Victoria rode Dale Plumb's 'Mirinda Maid of Honour' to win the Open Pony 12.2-13hh class.

Jill Grant's very successful 'Bamborough Mannequin' ridden by Brooke Firth took second place in the Open Pony 12.2-13hh class.

Emma Richardson's 'Willowcroft Holly's Emblen' continued from her Novice success to take fourth place in the Open Pony Hack 12.2-13hh class.

Jessica Stalling from NSW is more often photographed winning Rider Championships. She proves here that she is as stylish over the fences, jumping her 'Top Secret' in the Junior AM3 this afternoon.

Kate Brideoake from Mooroduc in Victoria took second place in the Junior AM3 this afternoon riding the wonderful veteran, 'Zapod' and was fifth riding 'Belle Giselle' (pictured).
