Sale World Cup Showjumping

Kristin White is pictured competing in the Amateur/Veterans section of the Silver Tour riding her, 'Mayfield Elusive' in to second place.. The Sale World Cup Show programme was totally revamped this year along the lines of the Gold Silver and Bronze Tours first seen in Australia at the Elysian Fields Shows held in Queensland. As well as the height groupings, from 1.15m up, there are Open, Amateur and Veterans sections within each Tour group. The new format has been met with general approval, however entries across the board are down at Sale this year.

Tegan Joyce from Korrumburra is already looking for the next fence as she rides, 'LH Brittany' in the Junior class this afternoon. With one fence down they just missed out on the jump off.

Tori Stuckey is pictured riding, 'Minto Blackwood' in the Junior jump off class this afternoon. Tori did not place with Blackwood, but took fifth place with her first ride, 'Oakley Doakley'.

Sarah Louise McMillan from NSW, pictured riding 'KP Cebrano', took third place in the Junior jump off class with her first ride , 'The Countryman'. Nicholas Sheehan rode 'Larry' to victory in the class with Shannon Turner riding Les Symons' Sym Fairmont in to second place.

Taking time out from elegantly enclosing the countryside, expert fencer, Colin Wareing rode his, 'Just Ned' to take fifth place in the Bronze Tour Veterans Section.

The ageless Fiona John rode her 'HF After Dark' to take fourth place in the Bronze Tour Veterans class on the second day of "The Elms" Spring Jumping Classic.

Jenny Ginnivan jumped a good four penalty round in the Bronze Tour Veterans class aboard her well named, 'Aspen'.

Legandary Les Symons rode his 'Sym Beachdoll' out of Beachgirl, to win the Veterans section of the Bronze Tour today.

Well known South Australian rider, organiser and official, Les Limpus rode his 'Hey Brother in to third place in the Bronze Tour Veterans class today.

Hayley Coman opened the 1.35m Gold Tour class today with a beautiful clear round riding her own and Scott Keach's, 'Just Lately'.

Sandra Kenny from the Bega area is pictured in full flight with her, 'Grandejeur' on her way to victory the combined Silver Tour Amateur/Veterans competition on the second day of "The Elms" Spring Jumping Classic.

Greg Smith had an unlucky four penalties riding his own, wife Pam and Debbie Higgs' thoroughbred 'Big Higgs" in the Gold Tour class this afternoon. 'Big Higgs' was just out of the money today but during his racing career both on the flat and over hurdles he won over $100,000.

Paul Athanasoff has his eyes well "up and ahead" as he gives 'Wirragulla Nicklaus' a "deposit" round in the 1.35m Gold Tour class this afternoon.

Young Victorian rider, Annica Robertson jumped a super first round clear in the Gold Tour class this afternoon riding her , 'Tenterfield'.

All the way from Western Australia, Anna McGregor jumped two stylish clear rounds aboard, 'DvZ Faberge' to take fifth place in the Gold Tour 1.35m jump off class.

Former Young Rider Champions, Belinda Prestwidge and 'Mr Chips' from NSW jumped a mature first round clear in the Gold Tour jump off class this afternoon.

Local and successful rider, Ally Lamb rode her 'Penrose' (out of a mare by Daley K) to jump a four penalty round in the Gold Tour 1.35m class this afternoon.

Angela Dobbin from Yarra Glen rode 'GP Marjorie' to fourth place in the Silver Tour section for Seven Year Old Horses.

Robert Goodwin's wonderful stallion, 'Warrego Sandon' from Queensland give this fence plenty of respect during the first round of the Gold Tour 1.35m class today.

The jump off for the Gold Tour class proved to be a very exciting one , with horses going ever faster. Posting a time of 36.90 seconds, it looked as if Becky and 'RSB Jacana' could not be beaten. However, they finished in third place.

It was interesting to see Gavin Chester's son, Kane ride the Daley K stallion, 'Warlord II' in the Gold Tour class this afternoon. With Gavin, Warlord has been a well travelled international jumper.

Brooke Dobbin won the Gold Tour 1.40m class on the first day of "The Elms" Spring Jumping Classic riding his his well performed, 'GP Shine'..

Jamie Kermond clearly likes grey horses. He is pictured riding the Coleman mare, 'ASB Colthaga' to an exciting second place in the Gold Tour jump off class this afternoon, posting a time of 36.25.

Last to go, Ingrid Clarke (nee Kimpton) jumped a super round riding her, eight year old Matisse gelding, 'PS Monet' to round up the fancied opposition and take out the Gold Tour class in a jump off time of 35.83 seconds.

Chris Chugg opted to give 'ASB Conquistador' a schooling round in the Gold Tour class this afternoon in preparation for the World Cup Qualifier tomorrow..

Well known Queensland and international rider, Billy Raymont rode the New Zealand Performance Horses;'Quebec' in to third place in the Silver Tour Seven Year Old Section. Billy also rode another NZPH horse, 'Playtime' to win the Seven Year Old Class.

Michael Cross from the ACT looks to be putting in more effort over this fence than 'Jess Kingdom'. The talented young rider (caught at an unfortunate moment) had four penalties in the first round of the Junior jump off class today.

Local girl, Zoe Boulton jumped a clear first round aboard her, 'Our Strike' in the Junior jump off class in Ring 2 this afternoon.

Eliza Baldwin and her 'Sunbury Lodge Dolly' make a nicely harmonious picture during the first round of the Junior jump off class this afternoon.

The partnership of Georgie Harvey and her imported, 'ES Valentino Rossi' looks very promising indeed. They had an unlucky rail in the first round of the Junior class, but you can expect to see this stylish combination in the money in the near future.
