Although experiencing a sever drought, Kentucky is a beautiful state. The grass might not be as blue as usual, but it is amazing horse country with plenty of established treed and miles and miles and miles of beautiful post and rail fencing, with hardly a square corner in sight.

First out in the final of 21, Australia's Warren Backhouse produced his best run riding Kaitlin Townsend's 'Whizs Bronze Star'. They scored 216.5 for 13th place. That's 13th place in the World and on a borrowed horse. It was an impressive performance from the popular Queensland rider.

Carla Brown's 'Top Prize Prince' was a little flat for Australian Individual finalist, Martin Larcombe. Having produced a great run to make the final run off, they ended in 19th place with a score of 211.5. It was a tremendous effort for Australia to have two finalists  in a debut WEG Reining appearance. What could they do with their own horses.

The USA earned Team Gold and today Tom McCutcheon took the Individual  Gold Medal with a spectacular run riding Sarah Willeman's six year old stallion, 'Gunners Special Nite' by Colonels Smoking Gun out of an Milfillena mare.

This is rather a spectacular shot of Italian combination, Steffano Massignan and 'Yellow Jersey' , but the six year old Wimpy's Little Step stallion could not produce the form that saw him qualify for the Individual final in second place. They finished 18th with 213.
