Description

ABLUE MOON’S TNT
2011 Chestnut Gelding | 13.3 & 7/8hh
Registered EA, WPCS, AHSA

Whether mum is looking for a proven and competitive child’s/teen’s mount or her own safe and reliable perfect match, ‘Freddy’ is any mother’s dream.

12yo and officially measured at 13.3 & 7/8hh, Fred is registered EA, AHSA (Arabian Pony) and WPCS (Part Welsh), and eligible others. He is a flashy bright chestnut with bling, flaxen mane and tail, and heavy ticking. A true Hunter type, with plenty of bone, his substance and height make him a great prospect for a child who might have outgrown a smaller pony, or a mature rider looking to downsize.

Fred has been the ideal partner and second pony for our daughter, taking her from an inexperienced and somewhat nervous 12yo beginner to a 15yo competing with success at Royal and national level. However, her legs have kept growing, necessitating a move up to a hack. With school commitments etc., she really doesn’t have the time to keep two horses in full-time work/competition, and as a result we are making Fred available to the perfect home.

This wonderful pony does it all! He has competed with success at many breed and agricultural shows, Interschools, and in open Dressage. He loves a trail ride, regularly attends Pony Club, and has been to multiple lesson days and seminars. Most recently, he and his young rider attended Sydney Royal, winning their very large and competitive Pony Club Pairs class. No matter what you ask of him, Fred is always willing to put his best hoof forward, and this is one of the qualities that has made him such a consistently successful Youth horse across so many different arenas. He has competed successfully at Novice Dressage level, training Elementary.

The ultimate second pony, Freddy is incredibly safe, but has just enough character to develop his rider’s skills, he will test new riders, but once pushed through he is as good as gold. He has great brakes, no buck/bolt/rear, and is accustomed to dogs, machinery, etc. He is easy to keep in a frame and is a comfortable pony to ride. His ground manners are also impeccable, and he is very easy for a child to handle and prepare. He doesn’t need lunging or working down to ride at home or at a show, my daughter has always been able to hop straight on him and warm him up herself. He doesn’t get hot or difficult after a break.

He is perfect to catch, lead, tie, trim, worm, rug, wash, clip, float, and all the rest. Happy to yard or stable at home or at events, stands quietly tied to and shown off the float, easy on his own or with company. Freddy has a scar on his face which is easily covered with makeup and has clearly not impacted his success in the ring. He is otherwise unblemished, and has never had an injury or other health issue in his time with us. He is very friendly with other horses, isn’t destructive, and has no vices or bad habits.

Fred is a true ‘child’s pony’ who isn’t schooled or tuned up by adults in between child riders. Apart from a few rides when he first arrived (more than two years ago), he has been ridden exclusively by our daughter, and has just continued to get better and better.

This is a truly difficult sale of a beloved family member, and only excellent, long-term homes need apply.

Fred is located in western Sydney (Penrith region), and we have many other photos and videos available for genuinely interested parties.
