SYDNEY, April 27, 2023–Melissa Galloway on Windermere J’Obei W and Wendi Williamson on Don Vito MH, the only New Zealanders in the Sydney CDI3* Grand Prix placed first and second Thursday, both on New Zealand-bred horses. The highest ranked of 12 Australian riders was a Big Tour rookie on 67%.
Melissa and the 12-year-old New Zealand-bred gelding were awarded 70.891% for the victory. This was the seventh straight win the pair since returning from a European competition circuit last year, including the world championships in Herning, Denmark.
Wendi Williamson on Don Vito, a 10-year-old gelding was runner-up for the seventh straight time on 70.435%. Wendi competed on Dejavu MH in Europe and at the Omaha World Cup Final in 2017.
In the Big Tour debut of both rider and horse, Alinta Veenvliet and the mare Desperanza scored 67.717% for third place.
