Paul Athanasoff and 'Wirragulla Nicklaus' were back in good form they showed while in New Zealand and jumped two great rounds, with just one time penalty (first round) keeping them from a perfect score. It was however good enough to take out the first World Cup Qualifier of the 2007/2008 season.

With one of just two clear rounds, (the other from Peter McMahon and 'KS Genoa') it looked as if Rod Brown and 'Mr Burns' were going to claim back to back World Cup classes. However, an uncharacteristic eight fault second round saw them finish in fifth plce.

They went on to another 2006/2007 double by taking out the Nattai Trophy for Supreme Welsh Exhibit.
