Another trainer hit with cobalt charge

Racing Victoria stewards have maintained their strong stance against cobalt breaches, charging trainer Jenny Gow-Whyte with administration of the drug to affect race performance, while group 1-winning trainer Peter Gelagotis has been hit with charges in relation to excess total carbon dioxide.

Stewards allege Mt Gambier trainer Gow-Whyte administered, or caused to be administered, cobalt to gelding Soul Fire prior to a race in August last year on the Geelong synthetic track.
