Attempted MyEA Security Breach Notification

Early last evening, we became aware that the "Forgot My Password" page on MyEA was being attacked through an overseas IP address.

The attack initiated a series of emails to some members.

The attack was blocked and an additional layer of security was applied to put in place a permanent block on attacks of this kind. The situation is continuing to be closely monitored.

At no stage was your personal data compromised and the attacker did NOT gain access to member details in any way.

We have implemented additional security measures, including increasing unique identifiers from one to two, eg member number + last name, in order to reset your password.

This is a significant risk mitigation process for data security, to prevent a re-occurrence and to keep your personal information safe.

The security of your personal information is paramount and protection of your privacy is of utmost importance to us.
