Chautauqua, Hartnell impress on debut

In a highly anticipated event that saw two of racing's biggest stars make their equestrian debuts, Chautauqua and Hartnell didn't disappoint.

Although Chautauqua and Hartnell had been out at small, private events, this was the first opportunity the public got to see the horses.

Competing at their first equestrian events, they lined up against each other in the Champion Led Rising Star Thoroughbred class, where Hartnell would triumph.

It was an emotional moment for his new owner Sheralee Patterson, who admits she was surprised by the win.

"It was his first day out pretty much. What he's done today has blown me away … I can't believe how relaxed he is," Patterson said.
