The interesting thing about the horse world is that it draws its enthusiasts from all walks of life. However, it is not as if Tom and Amanda happened to find horses, Tom at least was born into them and has had a very successful career in the show ring. Amanda has also had great success with ponies, but often it is what people do away from horses that is the most interesting. We tend to think that horse people just do horses. Tom Edwards is the Executive Managing Director and Global Head of Valuations and Advisory Services of CBRE, the largest commercial real estate services company in the world. Amanda too had a professional career in recruitment.
Based for some time in Singapore, Tom and Amanda are soon to move to Dallas, Texas. Because their interest in horses will remain forever, but their lifestyle has changed somewhat over the years, their Roswal Trailers’ fifth wheeler reflects that change. The trailer was designed by Tom, Amanda and Danny Voyka at Roswal Trailers from Loganlea in Queensland. “We wanted a bigger living area and room for just two horses,” says Amanda. “We keep it packed, so that when we get home we can just get in it and drive”. The two horse spaces keep their connection with the showing world, but keeps it at a manageable level, whilst the living offers luxurious apartment living, giving them the best of both worlds when they
return home.

All ready to go. Notice the double axles set back under the heaviest part of the trailer. The trailer also has truck tyres and heavy duty suspension. The trailer is 27’ long and there is a 5.4m awning for those sunny Queensland days.
The outfit is powered by an 8 Speed Hi Matic Auto Turbo Diesel Iveco Daley that has no trouble pulling the 3,300kg trailer. The hitch folds away on the trailer and the truck can be used as a ute.

Plenty of useful storage space. What is impressive about the interior of this trailer is the simple, elegant lines and the sense of space. It contained everything that was necessary for comfortable living and nothing that was unnecessary.
A skylight allows more light and air in the living if needed. This can be open for light and air, just open for light or in black out mode. There are similar blinds on the windows.
Simplicity and ease of access. Being able to get all around the bed makes life much easier. The queen sized bed has reading lights and ample his and hers wardrobe hanging space. The TV is well placed for viewing from the bed and can swing around to be viewed from the dining area.
In the bathroom the vanity and toilet are separate from the shower. There is also an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

The good sized Dometic 3-way fridge. Everything apart from the air conditioner and the gas hob can run on 12v.
The dining area in the slide out easily seats four. And to make the evening swing, the four speaker stereo system speakers are located along with more storage above. The table can drop down to make another double bed.

Both the sink and the gas hob have covers to create more bench space when they aren’t in use.
The two burner gas hob is big enough for two pots on the go at once.
The under bench microwave is also a convection oven. There is plenty of storage in the kitchen area, as there is throughout the trailer.
Room and ready for two in the back. On the back wall you can see the door that leads into the living area.
The horse area also has the clean and simple lines of the living area. Rubber floor, rubber behind, padded partitions and checker plate on top of the chest box. The horses travel on an angle. Head dividers attached to partitions and each horse has its own window. There are windows on either side for cross ventilation and also vents in the roof.

Under the neck of the trailer is the well organised 12 volt power supply using lithium batteries with inverter. There are also five 120w solar panels on the roof that constantly charge the batteries.
